Frequently Asked Questions

Jackson, Mississippi
Griffin Construction Solutions roof inspection and repair

How do I know if my roof needs repair or full replacement?

We look at the shingle age, how much of the roof surface is actually affected, and whether the decking underneath still feels solid underfoot. Damage in one spot on a roof with plenty of life left in the shingles usually calls for a repair. Granule loss spread across most of the field, more than one active leak, or soft decking found in several places usually calls for replacement, and we walk you through the photos so the call is not something you have to take on faith.

How long does a typical roof job take?

Most single-family roofs in the Jackson metro are finished in one to two working days once materials are on site and the crew starts. A crew of fifteen or more moves fast on a standard roof. Steeper pitches, extra layers of old shingles, or decking repairs found mid-job add time, and we tell you about that before it happens rather than after the invoice arrives.

Do you help with insurance claims?

Yes. We inspect the roof, document the damage with photos organized by location, and write the findings in a format built for how an adjuster works. You are the one filing the claim, but we make sure the roof side of the inspection is not the reason anything gets missed or underpaid.

What happens if it rains during a tear-off?

We never strip more roof than we can dry in before the crew leaves for the day. If weather moves in faster than expected, any open decking gets covered with underlayment and tarps fastened along battens, not weighted down loosely, so the house stays dry until the crew is back on it.

Do you work on commercial and multi-building properties?

Yes, alongside residential roofing. Flat and low-slope commercial roofs get a different inspection than a pitched house roof, focused on drainage, membrane condition, and ponding water. We schedule commercial work around business hours wherever the client needs that.

What areas do you cover around Jackson?

Jackson and the surrounding metro, including Fondren, Belhaven, Northeast Jackson, Clinton, Ridgeland, Madison, Flowood, Pearl, Byram, and Brandon. If you are along the I-55 or I-20 corridor outside that range, reach out and we will tell you plainly whether the drive makes sense for the size of the job.
